The experiencer, who had his first heart attack at 25, had two separate near-death experiences during subsequent cardiac events. In the first NDE at age 26, he was talking with his mother when he suddenly found himself in an ambulance. He was clinically dead for 14 minutes. He found himself standing before a massive Roman-style building with tall pillars and bright light emanating from everywhere. His deceased uncle appeared beside him and walked with him through the coliseum-like structure. In the middle of the room, he heard his grandfather's voice saying "This is not your time yet," and he immediately returned to his body in the hospital.
During his second NDE approximately 10 years later, he was clinically dead for 27 minutes and shocked with defibrillators over 13 times. He found himself in a beautiful rolling field with a large pond, the same pillar building on a hill, and a waterfall that created no disturbance in the water. His uncle appeared again, showing him around and indicating where they would fish together. He experienced profound happiness, no pain, and moved by gliding rather than walking. His uncle led him toward a treeline where they found a two-story house unusually attached to a green dually truck. He was about to knock on the door, knowing his deceased father would answer, when his grandfather's voice intervened again with concern, telling his uncle "HE IS NOT DONE YET, HE HAS TO GO BACK." He felt his grandfather grab his arm and pull him up. The doctor reported he had called time of death but the heart monitor beeped once more, leading to one final defibrillation attempt. The doctor told him he was the luckiest man alive, having been clinically dead for 27 minutes with over 13 defibrillation attempts leaving burns on his chest. A nurse commented he must have a guardian angel. The experiencer noted both NDEs showed the same place and people but were not identical experiences, suggesting they weren't mere brain-generated repetitions.
