During a heart catheterization procedure, the patient lost consciousness and found herself observing the medical team from behind their shoulders as they worked urgently. She felt an overwhelming need to leave and suddenly shot upward, looking over a wall where she saw her two adult children standing hand-in-hand. She moved through them as pure energy, experiencing dazzling colorful LED-like lights and whooshing sounds, feeling herself dematerialize.
She then found herself hurtling through a void-like space toward a tiny pinprick of intense white light that grew larger and brighter as she approached. Her deceased yellow Labrador Sandy, who had died seven months earlier, emerged from the void surrounded by translucent pink loving energy. Sandy appeared to age from young to old as she approached. The experiencer stopped suddenly upon meeting Sandy, saying "Oh hi Sandy" as naturally as any greeting, feeling her fur despite having no hands. Sandy immediately began moving her back through the same path - back through her children and over the wall. Just before re-entering her body, she had a vision of all living beings connected by silver cords from their upper sternum and between shoulder blades, with cords of varying lengths and tensions connecting everyone though no one seemed aware of them. The medical staff restrained her from pulling out her ventilator. Upon awakening with severe chest pain and everything appearing pink-tinted, her first words to her husband were "I came back and I saw Sandy. Where is my cord?" Her husband had noticed she was gagging on the ventilator and advocated for her. The experience left her profoundly aware of the interconnectedness of all beings through these invisible silver cords.
