On September 23, 2015, a man was in a head-on motorcycle versus auto accident where his girlfriend was killed. He flatlined on scene for 6 minutes and in the trauma center for 8 minutes. His experience began with floating in a "Superman flying" position through a tunnel of beautiful fluffy clouds perfectly formed like a tube, moving gently toward a round disc of red and yellow light. When his forward motion stopped, he felt overwhelming desire to go to the comfort, warmth and love of the light - feelings he had never experienced before. He heard a man's voice that was known to him though never heard before, asking simply: "Do you want to stay here or do you want to go back?" After weighing his choices between the feeling of the light and what he believed unfinished in life, he chose to return saying "I want to go back." His next conscious moment was two and a half weeks later in the trauma unit at Penn Presbyterian Hospital. Since then, he has experienced premonitions of future events that come true, with visions or feelings that pop into his head unexpectedly. He distinguishes this tunnel experience from medication-induced hallucinations by his level of consciousness during it.
