The subject went to the hospital for penicillin shots after being told she had an STD (which was false). A male nurse administered the shots, and she initially felt fine but then started feeling strange. She gripped the nurse's stomach saying "make me believe it" as the room began spinning. She experienced severe convulsions so strong her legs were buckling under her and hitting her chest. The nurse couldn't reach the call button due to her grip, but someone heard the convulsions and rushed in saying "Oh my God." She could only see a tunnel with a bright light at the end, was hyperventilating and in great pain. She experienced a heart seizure during this event. In the tunnel, she saw her heart beating and a shadow like a roll-top desk being pulled down over the light, progressively descending as her condition worsened. Medical staff held her down and administered adrenaline to pressure points. As the shadow almost completely covered the light, she said "And the lights went out." She left her body and entered a beautiful star-filled night with incredible peace and no pain. She accepted death and was yanked back to her body. The male nurse later confirmed she had died for about three minutes, saying "you had absolutely gone, died." The experience gave her a heart murmur that eventually healed. She later sought therapy for her needle phobia and came to value life much more, believing a person must choose to let go in order to die.
