Michael D experienced two NDEs from suicide attempts in 2004. In January, after years of abuse and depression, he stabbed himself four times in the chest during a confrontation with his father. During eight hours of surgery and two weeks on a ventilator, he experienced clinical death for 90 minutes. He heard his parents arguing about a DNR order, with his mother refusing to sign it. He left his body, saw his parents in the hallway arguing, walked back to see himself dying on the bed, then heard his father say "Okay save him, I want my son."
Michael entered complete blackness - no walls, no direction, just blackness where he felt lost. Then a brilliant flash of rainbow light approached, warm and full of love, forgiveness, with angels singing. The colors spoke to him mentally, saying he was home and everything would be explained. A golden center asked if he knew where he was. He was shown photos of his life, feeling his parents' intense love and pain. He saw visions of his father's future depression if he stayed dead, and his mother crying on a green hillside. His deceased friend's mother (Mandy's mom who died in November 2003) appeared as an angel, advising him to return because his parents loved him. He was told to close his eyes and listen to the angels sing, then felt himself falling in circles back to his body, hitting it like falling off a roof with immense pain. In July, he attempted again by stabbing his left chest and hanging himself. During surgery to remove his spleen, his deceased mother came to him, showing him his father's love and making him feel what his father felt when cutting him down. She showed him his father crying and praying in the waiting room. This time he had no choice but to return. --- Biblical Summary --- Biblical elements: Life review with moral assessment, encounter with deceased as angels/guides, understanding of universal love, return against will showing divine sovereignty, transformation toward genuine faith and deeper understanding of life's meaning as a gift from God. Unbiblical elements: Limited concern - the ability to see and predict future events developed after the experience could be seen as divination, though presented as a spiritual gift.
