A mother who lost her son Sage on July 25, 2024, attempted suicide after eight months of intense grief. Feeling she no longer wanted to live, she took a handful of pills and lay down on her kitchen floor, praying and expecting her husband to find her body in the morning. She either fell asleep or died, then found herself raised above her body, able to see herself lying on the floor. Despite trying to return to her body, something kept pulling her upward slowly but steadily toward a bright light.
During the ascent, she encountered extraordinary colors she had never seen before in life. She immediately recognized her deceased son Sage walking toward her from a distance, confirming his identity through their brief exchange. He took her hand and led her to sit down, expressing that while it was glorious to see her, it wasn't her time and she needed to return because she still had things to do. The setting was significant - he led her to the same bench where she had previously encountered him during meditation sessions. When she pleaded to stay with him, he gently insisted she had to go back but granted her request to hold and kiss him first. She cradled his head in her lap and played with his hair while he looked at her with his characteristic smile. She could feel his complete peace through his body, touch, and smell. He apologized again for having to leave, promised to wait for her, and told her she would know her purpose. The woman awoke in the hospital in awe of the experience. She noted feeling enormous peace, tranquility, and overwhelming love during the encounter. The experience validated her previous meditation visions where Sage would take her hand, lead her to a bench, and they would have conversations - the NDE occurred at this very same bench, suggesting continuity between her meditative and near-death experiences.
