A woman with complex PTSD and lifelong suicidal ideation, who had experienced an NDE at age 5 during tonsil surgery, contracted COVID-19 in December 2020. Having recently lost her father and feeling disconnected from life, she deliberately avoided hospitalization despite having COPD, secretly hoping the virus would end her life. She justified staying home to care for her elderly roommate and their dogs, ignoring medical advice to seek emergency care if oxygen levels dropped below 90.
On the third day, her condition catastrophically deteriorated with her temperature dropping to 95°F, oxygen levels in the 70s, and blood pressure too low to register. As her dogs climbed on her trying to warm her freezing body, she surrendered to death. Her consciousness escaped "like water vapor" and she observed the COVID virus with unexpected compassion, understanding it as a living entity fighting for survival, which made her feel ashamed for undervaluing life. She experienced a profound encounter with the Creator involving total sensory engagement beyond telepathy or spoken word. The Creator offered forgiveness but required her to first forgive everyone who had wronged her. When she protested she couldn't forgive on her own, she was told to simply "let go of the debt" - to stop requiring repayment from others. This instantaneous release brought perfect unity and understanding with Source, seeing evil as mere forgetfulness of truth. The experience involved multiple cycles of dying and returning. Each time she chose to stay in the afterlife, she was made to experience the crushing grief her death would cause specific family members, particularly her recently widowed mother. Unable to bear their pain, she repeatedly chose to return. This pattern continued for several hours until she finally awoke determined to live, obtained medical treatment, and found her lifelong obsession with suicide had completely ended. She gained a permanent ability to maintain total forgiveness toward everyone.
