A French woman experienced a heart attack and underwent emergency coronography with stent placement in the hospital. Fifteen days later, she returned for a second procedure to place additional stents. During this second operation, she observed alarm bells going red and her heartbeat becoming dangerously fast on the monitors. The last thing she heard was the doctor urgently calling "Shock! Shock her now!" before entering complete darkness. In this state, she found herself without a physical body but as a presence in a dark tunnel. She felt compelled to reach the end of this tunnel, which seemed very important. The darkness was profound, similar to what she had experienced during a previous convulsive fit. Many beings without shape appeared as black forms in the darkness, all attempting to communicate with her telepathically and simultaneously. They seemed desperate to tell her things, but she could not process all their messages at once as she focused on reaching the tunnel's end. One being, whom she recognized as her deceased grandmother, stood behind her left shoulder insisting she had something important to say. The experiencer remained angry with her grandmother from life and refused to listen. She was then pulled up by her shoulders back to life as a nurse called her name and slapped her face. Medical staff informed her she had been in cardiac arrest for two minutes after being shocked. The doctors admitted they had been very frightened during the episode.
