At 18, living in youth homes with an uncertain future and destructive, hostile thoughts, the subject was crossing a road with a female staff member after shopping. At a refuge between lanes with many people waiting at a red light, a van stopped and waved them forward. Perceiving the light as green, she walked in front of the van and saw a red car coming directly at her. Thinking "Now I die!" she tried to position herself against the hood for best survival chance. She hit the hood and windshield before entering another dimension.
Suddenly she was in an extremely bright white dimension experiencing comprehensive happiness, peace, and global harmony. Thinking "Wow how cool. It is really like this when you're dead," she saw outlined figures in white with tremendous light, feeling surrounded by loving, warm, welcoming presences. Through telepathic communication, a calm secure male voice told her she needed to choose - she could end her life now but hadn't fulfilled her task yet, or live on to find and complete her job but must change her life and appreciate it. Despite the attractive existence, she chose life and a second chance, recognizing she had an earthly task. Everything disappeared and she felt sucked down. She went straight into the street against a red light, got hit from the side, thrown upon the windshield, flew through the air, bounced her head on asphalt, and landed on the sidewalk. Despite this violent impact, she sustained only a concussion, one knocked-out tooth, and abrasions. She calmly reassured her shocked companion who thought she had died. The experience in the other dimension felt much longer than the few seconds of the accident. She was completely transformed afterward - happy, laughing, appreciating small things, joking, smiling, befriending everyone. Those around her noted she was entirely different than before. Eleven years later, she still feels the complete euphoria and becomes calm and happy just thinking about it. She gained faith and conviction, knowing how wonderful the other side is. Reading another girl's nearly identical NDE made her shake, realizing the commonality of these experiences despite medical explanations about shock and oxygen deprivation.
