The subject was riding her bicycle home after work, looking forward to two days off. While preparing to cross a road during what appeared to be a traffic break, she got on her bike and started across but was struck by a van. Instantly, she found herself in a huge field of flowers with a bright blue sky, with colors beyond human language to describe. Confused about the sudden transition from her bike to this place, she began walking toward a distant light that appeared like a city glow despite it being daylight.
As she approached, she saw a city with people walking, laughing, and talking. She could hear them telepathically in her head and had a body but somehow didn't. She felt overwhelming love and happiness emanating from the city and walked faster, wanting to be there. Just before reaching the city gates, a tall man approached with longish brown hair and the bluest eyes that seemed to see into her heart. His face showed pure unconditional love without condemnation, only gentleness. He told her it wasn't her time and she had to go back. Despite her stubborn arguing and certainty that her daughter would be fine and they'd see each other again, the man listened patiently. She threw what she described as a tantrum, desperately wanting to stay with the happy people and the joy. When he said she had things to do yet and placed his hand on her shoulder saying she had to go back, she suddenly found herself in an ambulance with no memory of being hit or the ambulance ride. She remembers nothing from the accident or ambulance ride, but vividly recalls every detail of the field, city, love, and the man. Even with eyes open, she can still see, hear, and feel the experience. She was initially angry about being sent back but acknowledges the experience changed her. The encounter showed her a realm of perfect love and joy that she was prevented from entering due to unfinished purposes.
