The subject was abducted at knifepoint and repeatedly raped by a stranger who announced his intention to kill her. During a violent struggle, he pinned her down and strangled her while punching her. She tried desperately to breathe but could not, realizing she was going to die. After initial upset, she accepted death, thinking she was young to die but didn't want to be there anyway, having searched for love all her life without finding it. Raised atheist, she expected death to be the end but was surprised when consciousness continued.
She left her body and entered a spiritual form without blemish, observing her attacker from above and her body beneath him. Her life flashed before her like a movie as she floated into space, seeing Earth as a small star among others. In the void, she felt someone tap her shoulder and immediately knew it was Jesus. He warned that if she left now, she could never return, asking if she was sure. She instantly thought of things she wanted to do - playing darts, dancing, drawing, learning to speak her truth even if dangerous, and perfecting herself. She told Jesus she had things to do and was instantly back in her body, able to breathe again. The attacker released her after another assault. The next day she reported to police and was examined by a doctor who documented severe strangulation injuries: both eyes blackened, entire head purple and bloated from neck up, eye whites bright red. The doctor confirmed these were normal strangulation symptoms and said she was lucky to be alive. She saw Jesus looking at her with genuine love and compassion, without any judgment despite terrible things she had done. Life scenes were viewed from above showing attacker's head and her body below. The experience profoundly changed her worldview from atheism to Christianity, though she doesn't subscribe to all Christian philosophy. She researched religions before settling on Christianity based on encountering Jesus. She began valuing kindness over her previous "dog eat dog" worldview, though she notes failing at this and experiencing another near-death by murder two years later.
