On September 6, 2007, after a 10-hour workday and choir rehearsal, the experiencer was driving home when her car was struck by a van. She heard the loud crash and looked around trying to locate it, not initially realizing she was the victim until she couldn't move her left arm. People outside were saying "It's a lady in the car and she's dead." She could hear them but couldn't move or respond.
She began drifting and realized she was outside her body, sitting on the dashboard of her vehicle. She could see everything happening but had no strength or ability to control anything. In this state, she had a conversation with God, asking "God my husband left here like this. Is this it for me? What about my daughter?" When God didn't answer, she asked again about her job. She then felt a wonderful floating sensation. God responded "No! You have purpose." She immediately shifted back into her body. God then commanded "Lift up your head!" Though she thought she couldn't move, hands from behind reached up, touched the top of her head and chin, and placed her head in a forward position. Two firemen then appeared at her doors saying they would have her out in a few minutes. She repeatedly told them "God is in the car with me," experiencing the most incredible divine presence one could ever encounter. The experience demonstrated direct divine intervention both through the verbal communication about her continued purpose and the physical manipulation of her head position by unseen hands when she was paralyzed. The immediate arrival of rescue workers after the divine intervention suggests orchestrated timing. Her husband had previously died in similar circumstances, making her question whether this was her time as well, but God's clear response about her having purpose provided definitive answer that her life mission was not complete.
