A woman caring for her seriously ill mother experienced respiratory failure in December 2012 after developing what she thought was bronchitis. In the emergency room, she lost consciousness after the triage nurse began taking her blood pressure. She was rolled down a hallway where her heart stopped, requiring intubation and intensive care. She went into a coma on December 21st, 2012 and became conscious again on January 2nd or 3rd, 2013.
During her NDE, she floated above her body watching it being rolled down the hallway with a male nurse leaning over trying to intubate her. She was angry and trying to punch him but couldn't connect. She saw her eldest daughter walking beside the bed, crying on her cell phone saying she wasn't breathing and might be dead. Her daughter begged her to stop fighting them because they were trying to help. This brought overwhelming peace like floating on a summer lake with muffled sounds, warm sun, and the smell of thousands of wildflowers. Her deceased Aunt Billie roused her by shaking her shoulder and calling her name. Her aunt showed her patterns in her behavior causing illness - how she was beating herself up with guilt over perceived failures. Through pictures and words, she saw interconnections and how some things were meant to be. She saw her grandmother in the distance but Aunt Billie wouldn't let her go to her, grabbing her shoulders and saying slowly "You Must Go Back! If You Do Not Go Back, Your Daughters Will Never Find Their Joy Again!" Upon awakening, she was filled with unstoppable joy and positive outlook despite severe financial problems, broken car, and homelessness. The experience transformed her life's purpose to helping others find their joy. Her aunt had also told her that her mother would join her before her next birthday, which proved accurate.
