A 19-year-old woman in 1986 experienced an NDE while white-water rafting on the Rogue River in Oregon. After being swept from her kayak at Blossom Bar rapids, she was trapped underwater in turbulent water. She inhaled water, lost consciousness, and her lungs filled with water as she began drowning.
During the experience, she traveled through a tunnel of white light at incredible speed, feeling warm and peaceful. She encountered three crystal-like beings that transformed into angels with fiber-optic wings. The largest angel showed her a book with images of her entire life from conception to the present moment. An angel named Yahshael identified himself as having been with her since the dawn of time and showed her a golden wheat field, a massive waterfall, and a tree with golden leaves that transformed into birds. She was told she had arrived too soon and must return to Earth for specific people including a man whose face was unclear and many children yet to be born. The experience included multiple veridical elements including being shown future events and people not yet in her life. She observed the golden field, the boundary fence she could not cross, and a lake that showed living people on Earth like liquid mercury. She was told she had work to finish and was forcibly returned to her body, being expelled from the underwater vortex. After the experience, she developed empathic, claircognizant and clairaudient abilities. She can now hear voices from beyond the veil. She feels her purpose involves healing others and knows she was meant to survive when 21 others have died at the same location since her NDE. The experience remains the most profound of her life.
