At eight years old, the experiencer was pulled underwater by a strong riptide at the beach. Despite trying to swim out of the tide, they couldn't escape its grip. After losing their breath, they experienced their short life flashing before them. Then suddenly they floated outside their body, observing their own arms floating and face in the water. This out-of-body state brought the happiest feeling and most profound peace they had ever experienced.
While floating above their body, they saw a shadowy figure standing in front of a white light in a dark tunnel. They later identified this as their spirit guide who would continue appearing to them for about ten years afterward, showing up visibly or as a felt presence whenever they were scared. Excited to join this figure and the white light, they began floating toward them through the tunnel. Their soul or transparent body moved naturally toward the light without conscious choice. As they approached the spirit guide and light, they heard someone (possibly the shadowy figure) say "Go back, it's not your time." They felt a powerful push back through the tunnel - so forceful they could physically feel it. This push was actually their ten-year-old brother pulling them up onto his body board by the arm. Remarkably, out of the entire ocean, the brother somehow found them underwater when there was no way he could have known their location. Something guided him to reach under the water exactly where they were drowning and recognize the emergency. The experience left lasting positive effects. The spirit guide continued visiting them frequently for years. They developed psychic abilities and deep intuition, along with an aura of peace that others can feel. They gained powerful healing abilities and can sympathize deeply with others by feeling their emotions without words. The experiencer feels blessed by the experience despite others' difficulty believing or understanding it. The profound peace and happiness from the out-of-body state, combined with ongoing spiritual guidance and enhanced empathic abilities, transformed their life in beneficial ways.
