The experiencer underwent a 12-hour surgery for removal of a benign neuroma. Initially dismissing the experience as a strange dream, they later recognized it as a near-death experience after reading "Life After Life" and "Life After Death" months later. During the surgery, they floated up to the ceiling as a mist-like consciousness and observed the medical team in green gowns and caps working seriously over a body. They realized with complete detachment that it was their own body they had just left.
They floated effortlessly through a dark tunnel toward a beautiful yellow-white light that naturally drew them in. Upon reaching the light, they found themselves in pure beautiful light with no forms or boundaries, experiencing a peace unlike anything they had ever known. Time and space ceased to exist. At one point, they became one with everything, knowing all knowledge instantaneously - answers appeared immediately with each thought. They experienced being the infinite Pure White Light itself, feeling both omniscient and paradoxically lonely as the only existence. Three Beings of Light then appeared, with the middle one seeming larger and two accompanying on each side. They communicated telepathically that the experiencer must return to their body, that their mission and purpose on earth was not finished. Despite the experiencer's reluctance and desire to remain in that indescribable peace, they had no choice. They re-entered their body through the crown of the head like a wisp of smoke. They awakened to the doctor slapping their face and calling their name, with family and friends around them. The experience transformed their life - they left organized religion, lost all fear of death, and now look forward to what comes next. They report receiving wisdom and recognition over time from what they were shown on the other side, understanding that life is joyous and filled with laughter and love, with love being the greatest.
