The experiencer was walking outside with his wife at his parents' farm in middle Tennessee around midnight after an argument. He heard what sounded like gunshots and pushed his wife away before experiencing intense pain in his chest and lower stomach from being shot twice. His wife also experienced some leg pain. He passed out and later learned he had been shot twice.
His life flashed before his eyes showing every life event and emotion he and others felt. Coming to awareness, he saw his body with his wife crying over him and yelled because she couldn't see or hear him. He then felt a pull and found himself in gorgeous fields of wildflowers with bluest skies and vibrant colors beyond Earth's, experiencing overwhelming peace and love. He encountered his deceased grandmother Delia who called him "hijo" and said it wasn't his time. His grandfather (father's father) who died before his birth expressed pride in him and his brothers, revealing he was the presence they felt watching them play as children. An eight-year-old girl revealed herself as his sister who was stillborn two years before his birth in 1998, asking him to tell their mother she was okay and had been watching over them - she was his imaginary friend in childhood. His grandmother spoke of his son Yancy being her "gift" to the family and reassured him about his daughter Scarlett. She revealed knowledge of his struggles and told him he had amazing things to do and purposes to fulfill raising his children. Multiple deceased relatives appeared as he was pulled back to his body in the hospital bed where his wife was praying. The primary veridical observation was seeing his body with his wife crying over him while he was apparently unconscious, though from an out-of-body perspective. The encounter with the sister who died before his birth provides potential verification through family history. Upon return, he told his wife about the experience immediately. Strange phenomena followed including vivid dreams, shadows in peripheral vision, and whispers with no source present. He believes the NDE awakened something within him and changed his perspective on life and death permanently, recognizing universal connection beyond comprehension.
