At age three in a European village, the subject suffered a severe fever of unknown origin lasting 14 days, with fits, rolled-back eyes, body sores, blistered tongue, and repeated loss of consciousness. Family had priest perform last rites. During the experience, they had multiple out-of-body episodes, hovering above their body and re-entering it at least twice, aware of parents' distress even while unconscious. Two tall, almost transparent white energy beings appeared - one sitting beside the bed, another stationed by the door like a guard. When visitors came, both beings positioned themselves on either side of the door. The beings comforted them and made them feel their life was important, indicating the choice to stay or go was theirs. They experienced superimposed realities - seeing both the physical world and the beings' plane simultaneously, upset when the priest sat on top of one guardian. After choosing to stay, returning felt terrible - heavy, sore, trapped in "bad meat," seeing out of eye sockets like wearing a mask. Post-experience, they became more compassionate, developed ability to almost read thoughts, have unique relationships with animals (asked to leave zoo as all animals came to their enclosures), strangers and animals follow them home, and can revive "dead" plants.
