During the surgery, which was expected to take 1.5-2 hours, complications occurred. The subject remembers waking up with their deceased aunt standing by them in a cold part of the recovery room. They felt cool air and a deep sense of acceptance and love from their aunt, who hugged them before they fell back asleep. The aunt seemed to be saying "Don't worry" even though they hadn't been particularly close in life. When they woke at 11pm, the doctor said they had him worried for a bit.
