A man named Dick brought a visiting cardiologist to give a lecture at a prominent hospital. During the presentation, he began feeling unwell, thinking he was dehydrated. Black spots formed across his eyes, so he hurried to his seat and immediately blacked out. Suddenly he was somewhere else, in a different space where others were silently standing as if behind a veil. He felt no threat and to this day feels no fear of the afterlife. The atmosphere was benign though nothing was spoken. In a flash he was alone and said aloud "I must be dreaming," distinctly hearing himself speak before waking up. A crowd of caregivers surrounded him asking what happened. He attributed it to Flomax medication, which someone confirmed was in the literature. The visiting cardiologist then revealed "Dick, you had no pulse." He was sent to the ER where all vital signs checked out normal and was released within hours. Since this experience, he has been very comfortable with thoughts of death and the afterlife, feeling those beings had come to welcome him.
