A 10-12 year old boy underwent dental anesthesia with laughing gas in the early 1960s, when correct pediatric dosing was not yet established. He immediately experienced leaving his body as a formless dot, moving through a dark space at unprecedented speed. He passed through a spiral tunnel with golden glowing spirals similar to Hieronymus Bosch's painting, then entered multiple unfathomable universes with colored worlds and nebulas. Throughout the experience, he was immersed in overwhelming cosmic sound, vibration, and resonance - experiencing himself as pure consciousness merged with universal energy. He resided in an absolute void before being drawn back through the tunnel and waking up. Years later, he recognized the visions as matching photos of galaxies and nebulae, and found validation in Hindu texts describing cosmic consciousness and the sacred Aum sound. The experience profoundly shaped his understanding of consciousness as non-local and universal.
