After eight hours of labor, the experiencer was urgently taken for an emergency cesarean section under general anesthesia. They watched a nurse slapping their face and screaming their name, feeling like a child being woken for school who wants five more minutes of warm, cozy sleep. Upon recognizing the body as themselves, they remembered their baby, husband, friends, and life, which they realized they liked very much. Understanding they were dying from excessive bleeding that couldn't be stopped, they could choose to stay or return. Despite the capital-letter PEACE they felt, they decided life wasn't something to fear. The nurse continued slapping their face while another gave a blood transfusion into their right arm. Making a quick decision to live, they ran mentally into their body, which felt like "going inside a glove" or landing into something exactly their size. Upon opening their eyes and asking to see their baby, everyone looked worried - not about the baby who was fine, but about the experiencer who had been bleeding dangerously. They knew this was real and beautiful, feeling lucky to have experienced it, though they haven't shared it much to avoid confrontations about it being dreams or anesthesia effects.
