The experiencer went to the hospital for an overnight "simple procedure" for reflux that went horribly wrong, resulting in a long-standing esophageal perforation lasting 7-10 days, when most people don't survive past 24 hours. During surgery, the surgeon found them so septic that their organs were the hottest he had ever touched. They lost their esophagus due to infection and were placed on life support in ICU for a week, with family told to say goodbye. When they passed critical condition, doctors called them a miracle. While in ICU, they had multiple experiences where a blue-eyed wolf would appear beside their hospital bed. Without remembering how they left the bed, they would go down a hall with the wolf who opened a door. A blonde woman in white, whose face was never seen, waited on the other side. She and the wolf led them down a long dark tunnel, with the woman on the right and wolf on the left, holding onto the wolf's fur. At the tunnel's end, the woman opened a door to a beautiful large field with trees, flowers, birds, and many people who didn't seem crowded. They walked up a small hill and sat with a woman with short dark hair who had her knees pulled up. They talked about important things that couldn't be remembered later. When time came to leave, they walked back through the tunnel with the woman and wolf. This happened multiple times, with relief each time the wolf appeared. Later they realized they could only return when the wolf came for them. They believe this was a "holding place" for very sick people to receive healing energy. After recovery, they left an unhealthy relationship, took energy healing classes, started reading medicine cards, and felt drawn to help people, wanting everyone to feel loved and cared for.
