During a heart attack in a cardiac catheterization room, the experiencer underwent extreme pain and fought for every breath. As the doctor repeatedly urged them to "hang with me buddy," their voice seemed to move away and the lights dimmed to darkness. All sound stopped, and at hyper speed, every action, word, thought, and omission of their life played through their consciousness. They became terrified of going to hell, recognizing they hadn't been particularly good despite not being bad. Then the room lit up with a perfect, peaceful light. From an elevated perspective, they could see everything simultaneously - the medical team working on their body below and their wife in the adjoining observation room talking with a nurse. They felt warm, loved, peaceful, and perfect in a way they'd never experienced before. They could see the looks on everyone's faces and tried to tell them they were fine. Despite feeling connected to their wife and children still at home, they wanted to stay in this perfect state. Eventually deciding to return despite knowing it would hurt terribly, they came back suddenly cold and in pain, but without fear. Over the following days, they experienced V-Tach episodes but told rushing nurses everything would be okay. To this day, they don't fear death and miss where they were during the experience.
