On December 28, 2017, while having morning coffee and discussing Christmas with her husband, the subject felt an ache in her left arm that intensified. She heard a voice say "Oh Sam, you are in sooo much trouble," then instructed her husband to give her aspirin and call 911. She experienced a widow maker heart attack with 100% LAD occlusion, coding 9 times total - 4 times at home, once in the helicopter, and 4 times in the cath lab. She was clinically dead for 15 minutes total with no blood or oxygen to heart or brain.
During the codes, she experienced multiple mystical states. She saw a mysterious man watching the paramedics work, shiny objects everywhere, and heard distant singing. During one code, she floated with a warm breeze on her face in total peace, observing paramedics working on her body but unable to hear or feel them. She experienced various otherworldly journeys including dancing in purifying water, encountering someone appearing as Scott in mud, walking among singing flutter beings, and visiting bright colored buildings containing all her memories and future possibilities. In the final realm of pure light, she became mechanical along with others, morphing to fix her medical problems. She was shown her purpose: to share knowledge of love and forgiveness, touch lives when called, and be a person of healing and light. She awakened from the medically induced coma on New Year's Eve, surprising staff who expected three weeks of coma. Paramedics later revealed she had whispered and guided their hands while clinically dead. Post-experience, she sees light around everyone, hears layers of sounds intensely, experiences vibrant colors, and attracts children and animals. She feels overwhelmed by this world while maintaining joy in her mission to share love and healing.
