At age 18, during a car accident in mountain roads, the subject's friend swerved to avoid another car and hit a tree after nearly going over a cliff. Time slowed as they headed for the cliff edge, life scenes flashed, and she thought "Your life really does flash before you." The truck suddenly spun 90 degrees and hit a large pine tree. After impact, she couldn't move or breathe, then felt pulled upward out of her body through the top of the truck.
She saw Tim running toward the wreck and another boy arriving, then entered a dark tunnel being drawn toward distant light. In the light, she encountered a presence that was three separate beings/men yet also one entity, with subtly different faces. The central figure communicated telepathically, asking repeatedly why she was there and if she knew what happened. She found herself in a bright realm where everything had inner light with no shadows - grass, trees, flowers all glowing with intense colors and perfect clarity. When she couldn't answer the being's questions or identify who he was, he said she couldn't stay and must return. Despite her pleading to remain, she was pulled backward through a vacuum sensation. She observed the accident scene from above, seeing events that had already occurred, including friends calling for help and her own unconscious body. She returned to her body feeling intense cold, pain, and the hardness of everything. She experienced complete amnesia except for the NDE itself, gradually recovering memories over several days. The experience left her unafraid of death itself, only of potential pain in dying. Years later, she became Christian and believes the three-yet-one being was the Holy Trinity, and she was sent back because she didn't know Jesus at the time.
