During a caesarian section for her first child under general anesthesia, the experiencer found herself in a peaceful, calm, dark space, aware she was floating away from her body at a 45-degree angle into a dimension unlike our 3-dimensional world. She enjoyed wonderful feelings of peace and calm without concern for anything else. Then the thought occurred: "what a shame, you have carried this baby for 9 months and you are not going to see it!" A decision was made, and she felt herself falling back and slammed onto the bed very harshly where life and reality hit her. Weeks or months later, when she recalled and shared the details with her husband, he revealed that the doctor had told him she had died during the operation. She was unaware this had happened until then. Despite subsequently having another caesarian section and two hip replacements under general anesthesia, she never experienced anything similar again, confirming the uniqueness of this death experience.
