This account describes two separate NDEs. At age 13, during a head-on collision with a drunk driver at a drive-in movie, the experiencer saw the approaching car in slow motion before impact. They were enveloped in complete darkness that felt quiet, warm, comforting, and cozy without fear. A white light appeared far above, resembling sunlight seen from underwater, warm like sunshine. They awoke covered in blood but without pain despite severe injuries, feeling safe while being extracted and transported to the hospital. Three years later, while bicycling home from high school, a driver ran a stop sign, hitting them hard from the side. They flew over the vehicle, landing head-first on pavement. The sensation of floating up like a helium balloon allowed them to observe the accident scene from above, seeing themselves surrounded by people on the street. They felt calm until noticing their school uniform skirt was up showing underwear, triggering self-consciousness and panic. This emotional response immediately caused them to be "sucked back" into their body, where they pushed down the skirt and regained consciousness. The second experience particularly demonstrated conscious observation from outside the body with specific veridical detail about clothing position that triggered the return to physical form.
