While sitting in a parked car, the experiencer's heart suddenly stopped beating, accompanied by an intense sensation rushing from heart up the spine into the brain and seemingly out through the top of the head. Initial chaos gave way to profound tranquility and an all-consuming state of heightened awareness unlike normal consciousness. The incredible quiet of this new reality was immediately apparent. Unable to move any body part and knowing the heart had stopped, they understood death was occurring. Attention was drawn upward through the top of the head into a tunnel with bright light above. Beginning to enter the tunnel, their entire life history exploded into consciousness simultaneously - a complete life review. They felt unready to die, having unfinished business and wanting another chance. The light transformed into a lightning bolt that shot through brain and spine directly into the heart with extreme intensity. The heart exploded with energy and resumed beating. The profound calm vanished instantly with the return of heartbeat. They remained in the car for over four hours in shock and severe nausea, feeling as if massive adrenaline had been injected. Though experiencing cardiovascular problems for years afterward, they rebuilt their health and remain deeply influenced by the conviction that they have more to accomplish in life.
