On July 13, 2007, at a county fair cattle show, the experiencer suffered cardiac arrest while sitting on metal bleachers. She died three times during the approximately twenty-minute rescue effort. Multiple witnesses pulled her from between the bleachers and performed CPR with an automated external defibrillator (AED). During this critical period, she left her body and observed the scene from an elevated vantage point above the four-row bleachers, watching from what seemed much higher than physically possible. She observed her body being worked on by rescuers and noted the complete absence of pain while out of body. She questioned why she felt no pain and had clear awareness that she wasn't in her physical body. The experience felt timeless, with no sense of duration. When placed on the stretcher for ambulance transport, she re-entered her body, with the female EMT's face being the first thing she saw. Remarkably, despite extensive CPR and AED shocks, she experienced no pain throughout and had no bruising afterward. Hospital staff initially didn't believe the cardiac arrest had occurred until they read the AED chip data confirming multiple cardiac events.
