In late January 2021, while watching television and drinking tea with his wife, this Australian man burst out laughing at a comedy show while swallowing, causing severe choking. His wife attempted to assist as he coughed and choked, fighting for breath for approximately two minutes. During this distress, he suddenly found himself facing a light grey misty environment, immediately experiencing immense euphoria and ecstatic bliss that continued throughout the experience.
He retained his individuality and self-awareness but felt lighter, more expanded, and more knowledgeable, though uncertain what knowledge this referred to. Compared to this new existence, earthly life felt heavy like walking in treacle. When the mist cleared, he found himself on an immense plain stretching as far as he could see, sensing many people engaged in various activities though seeing no one directly, feeling he was "Home" and belonged there. A Being or intelligent Force appeared about 20 meters away, showing interest in him to his surprise. He was staggered by this Being's power which seemed to extend forever, feeling absolute awe but no intimidation. The Being was accepting of him and possessed awe-inspiring, immense power. He did not think of the word God but recognized it as a Force, an Intelligence of immense power showing acceptance. The experience lasted no more than a minute before he immediately re-entered his body, again aware of choking but gradually able to clear his lungs. Six months later, the effect remains with him, having eliminated all fear and anxiety about death. For him, death will be a doorway to ecstasy and Home, fundamentally transforming his perspective on mortality.
