The experiencer had a ruptured ectopic pregnancy that occurred Monday evening at 6:00 PM but didn't seek treatment until Tuesday morning. Doctors gave her only 50/50 survival chances, noting her low blood pressure had prevented complete bleeding out. During surgery, she heard a deafening SNAP that left her ears ringing. From near the ceiling, she observed the operation with fascination, initially feeling deep sympathy for the patient before realizing it was herself. A bright white light on her right persistently drew her attention away from the surgery. After watching a needle thrust into the patient's chest, she moved into the light through a dark channel she recognized as a birth canal, encased in warm, gyrating black jello projecting her toward brilliant light.
She experienced a comprehensive life review from childhood onward with distinct clarity. She not only saw her actions but felt the repercussions - experiencing the injury and pain she had caused others and how it passed on through them. One specific memory involved cruelly abandoning a young man who had helped her when she was drunk, leaving him stranded miles from home at night. She felt his complete panic, fear, and lasting trust issues. The guilt from seeing her selfishness turned her inside out in a cleansing process. She stood before a white landscape with a large structure to her right and an enormous stairwell containing all knowledge to her left. She remembered everything - understanding the simplicity of all existence's questions, comparing human limitation to an ant unable to perceive a human's entirety. She remembered three sisters/spirits who had been concerned about her choosing this life. Told she wouldn't be allowed to stay because of her daughter, she tried to capture the knowledge in words: "all is everything, everything is one." After returning and awakening two days later, she tried sharing her experience but faced universal disbelief, with her husband threatening divorce if she continued talking about it. Reading Dr. Raymond Moody's work later validated her experience, and she contributed to his research on the knowledge component of NDEs.
