A man reports having vivid memories of his traumatic birth when he was delivered with his umbilical cord knotted, not breathing, and with his heart stopped. He was successfully resuscitated and spent a week in the NICU. Throughout his childhood, he experienced flashbulb-type memories or images of his birth, including bright fluorescent lights, electronic sounds, and a calming feminine voice saying "I know it hurts." This felt awareness was validated just before his seventh birthday when his family told him he had died during birth. The revelation initially made him feel sick and repulsed, feeling like a freak, but deep down he had always known this happened. He describes having always felt different with a strong awareness of his body, especially his heart. Throughout childhood, he saw and felt things, had premonitions, and knew things he shouldn't have been able to know, with witnesses still alive to verify these experiences. He reports having had three separate NDEs total, all occurring in November (his birth month) and all involving his heart. The pattern completed when he discovered a congenital heart defect (PFO or hole in heart) present since birth, resulting from the birth trauma. He grew up feeling like a lonely, introspective child who spent time reading and having deep thoughts, with vivid visions of past events. Despite being raised Catholic, he felt drawn to understanding his astrological significance.
