Five minutes after receiving an IV in the emergency room at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, Ohio, his heart stopped completely. His soul immediately left his body, passing through the wall to his left into a dark room where he was seated in a chair. A being behind him rapidly showed him images from his life like a slide projector, stopping at four specific moments where he had encouraged others - at ages 6, 9, 25, and in college. Each time, he was launched back into those events, experiencing them fully with all senses including smells and physical sensations. The being emphasized "More of this!" before Mike returned to his body. He came back feeling euphoric and running on pure unconditional love, though the medical staff was emotionally drained from performing CPR. The experience gave him zero fear of death and a deep understanding that encouragement can change the world with little effort. He remains profoundly affected, knowing that wealth and position don't matter at death, only our connections and memories.
