In December 1998, a German law student in Sydney, Australia was hit by a drunk driver while standing on a sidewalk waiting for a traffic light. She has no memory of the impact but experienced looking at herself from the beautiful blue sky, seeing herself walking with sunlight illuminating her blonde hair more beautifully than ever. She felt perfect wellbeing with no pain and complete happiness. She understood this was death. In another scene, she floated bodiless over darkness toward a bright round light. The Clash song lyrics "Should I stay or should I go?" entered her thoughts, then she was turned around against her will back into darkness, understanding darkness represents earthly life and the light is where we go when we die. She awoke in an ambulance thinking she was watching a movie before realizing it was her. For years she wondered why she had to return since it wasn't her choice. Twenty years later, she understood her purpose: becoming more spiritual and teaching yoga to convey presence and peace. She cultivates the peaceful feeling from her NDE to share with others but struggles relating to people, finding most misguided, and relates better to animals, especially dogs.
