In 1984, a 15-year-old boy attempted suicide by overdosing on sleeping pills following severe family trauma, including witnessing extreme domestic violence and dealing with his parents' divorce. Sitting in his living room listening to Cat Stevens, he took enough pills to be lethal and waited to die. As he watched what he thought was his last sunset, a massive ball of white light came through the apartment and engulfed him. He left his body and experienced pure, unconditional love beyond description - not forgiveness but complete acceptance. The light, which he understood as God, grieved with him for his pain. He felt information being "downloaded" into him vibrationally. The voice told him "It is not your time" and instructed him to make himself vomit. He was placed back in his body, the light lifted him to his feet, and he followed the instructions, expelling the pills. The experience transformed his life, teaching him about self-compassion and the importance of sharing love with others. He now works to help others struggling with addiction, grief, and shame.
