At eight years old, the experiencer was attacked by two men who physically and sexually abused them. One attacker attempted to drown them in a river, holding them underwater by the neck. After initial panic, they experienced unlimited peace and serenity. They found themselves in a narrow tunnel of incredibly bright white light, floating on their back moving forward feet first, experiencing absolute bliss and unconditional love. At the end of the tunnel was a huge face of a man with white beard resembling Santa Claus who told them "It's not your time." When they protested, he showed them a glimpse of outer space with beams of light and planets. They became a light shooting around in space with other lights, just "being," and saw a distant planet that felt like home. They also saw a massive light they felt all came from. Looking down from high above, they saw their parents hear screams and their father running to help. Upon return, they felt depressed and wished they were dead, missing their true home. The experience taught them four lessons: love, be loved, just be, and experience life.
