On January 7, 2020, the patient underwent minimal mitral valve heart repair surgery that went catastrophically wrong. Minutes after initial closure, her heart began performing every possible arrhythmia simultaneously, attempting two major heart attacks. The medical team had to perform emergency open-heart surgery to fix a slipped ring that had folded onto an artery, requiring bypass surgery. What should have been a 3-5 hour procedure became two open-heart surgeries lasting 10 hours.
During the crisis, the patient found herself in a void space of soft, peaceful gray light with translucent sparkles. She was pulled through a tunnel of brilliant white-silver light that enveloped her completely, merging with her essence. She encountered a divine presence she recognized as God, surrounded by surround-sound thought communication. The patient expressed overwhelming gratitude for her life, family, and even the smallest details of creation. When God told her "There is no need to list. I know, Charity," she responded "Your will be done, Lord" and was immediately pulled back. The experience left her with profound changes - she became calmer, sought nature constantly, switched to plant-based eating, and meditated regularly to recapture the peace she experienced. She described the light as containing God's glory and presence, where she existed in complete blissful silence and oneness. The void space had no fear or darkness, only soft gentleness and exquisite love. Upon return, she awoke on a ventilator with family present, immediately recalling Psalm 100:4 about entering God's gates with thanksgiving. The experience reinforced her understanding that praising and thanking God is all she wanted to do while in His presence, never thinking of earthly life or family while there.
