In September 1990, during major gallbladder surgery under general anesthesia, the patient experienced what began as a sensation of flipping over and seeing the floor, wondering if they had been turned over and why they saw floor instead of table. They then zoomed up to the ceiling, looking down at a body they initially didn't recognize as their own until realizing it was dead. Nurses were rushing around while the anesthetist said "for God's sake breathe" with everyone in panic. Unconcerned about being dead, they thought "Oh well, I'm dead, better go then" and began traveling backwards faster than a bullet through a blacker than black void. Terrified, they tried to stop themselves and discovered their arms were replaced by wispy light. They arrived at a building bigger than a city with huge arched doors, and with just a thought about what was inside, found themselves in a huge empty room where they sensed an unseen presence and communicated through thought, receiving instant answers to questions. Next they stood in a garden with colors unlike earth - alive, vibrant, and glowing. A musical note sounded, telling them to return. Despite their desire to stay in paradise, the note sounded again and they were suddenly back gasping for air with extreme chest pain. Six weeks later, the surgeon confirmed the events, going "deathly white" and stating "You were determined not to come back to us, but we were even more determined that you would." The experience dramatically changed their life - they now have purpose, help people, channel healings, have psychic experiences, and no longer fear death.
