A woman suffered a near-fatal automobile accident that caused her to stop breathing, requiring a ventilator, and then go into a coma. During her coma, she experienced vivid remembrances of being in a heavenly realm permeated by bright mist and light that passed through everything, including her transparent hand. She walked with a heavenly being she recognized as Jesus, though he didn't need to announce himself as she knew him as a familiar friend. They floated above the ground through a beautiful garden where everything had brightness, plants were bright green, and water sparkled with a musical, singing quality. When she tried to drink from the stream, the water ran through her hands without being wet, yet her thirst was quenched just by Jesus looking at her. Communication was telepathic rather than verbal, and Jesus exuded love, concern, and caring through his shining countenance. She was given the choice to return to earth or stay in heaven, expressing she wanted to return if she could help others and communicate. She then found herself observing her husband holding her hand in the hospital room from above her body, feeling a strong desire to return and live with him. While trapped in her body during recovery, she could sense nurses' thoughts through their touch, knowing whether they believed she would survive. Since her NDE, she has gained the spiritual gift of communicating on a spiritual level through writing, feels the need for quiet contemplation, and lives with peaceful hopefulness. She believes she returned to testify about the spirit world's beauty and Jesus being who he claimed to be.
