A patient experienced a profound near-death experience while in a coma. The experience began with being propelled through a tube at tremendous speed, described as faster than any roller coaster, with loud noise from the velocity and a rough, bumpy sensation. This journey took them through various past life events, including vivid memories of childhood visits to their grandparents' house, walking to the corner store for wrestling magazines, and returning home. The ride deposited them in an unfamiliar, seemingly dangerous location where they wandered extensively, always walking through potentially hazardous neighborhoods yet feeling completely protected and watched over.
A significant moment occurred when time stopped. While in a store, a voice over the loudspeaker counted down to zero, explaining that time would stop but then restart counting forward. This zero point represented a critical decision moment where the experiencer felt they could control whether time would restart.
