A 23-year-old nurse contracted Klebsiella pneumonia from an isolation patient despite precautions. Hospitalized for 2 months with fevers reaching 105.2°F, she became septic. Doctors told her mother she would probably die. After hearing staff say "She's not gonna make it," she closed her eyes and found herself in another realm without a tunnel. She was on a path with vivid colors unlike Earth - hills, green grass, brook, stone wall, animals, and flowers. Bearded irises smelled like lemonade. A golden coach appeared and took her to a mansion with a round room filled with people of all ages and races, gold candles, robin's egg blue walls with gold trim. She felt a presence and encountered her grandmother (died 1985) and great-grandmother (died 1978), both appearing 17-21 years old. Angels 10+ feet tall in bright white opened huge doors revealing bright light she knew was God. Everything made sense instantly - "we are one with everything." After being told it wasn't her time, she returned to ICU. Pronounced dead 20 minutes earlier, her recovery baffled doctors. Even 30 years later, irises still smell like lemonade to her.
