In February 1978, a woman surfing at Maria's break in Rincon, Puerto Rico, was caught in 6-foot waves and swept toward a rocky reef cliff. Battered against the 10-foot cliff covered in sea urchins, she desperately tried climbing while being repeatedly smashed by waves, with urchin tentacles penetrating her body. Her red crochet bikini was torn, exposing her to more injuries. Praying "Please don't take me Lord. I'm not worthy to go now," she was pulled from her body through her head into a cloudy form that hovered above a wooden bench.
From this vantage point, she simultaneously observed her drowning body below and witnessed people forming a human chain to rescue her. To her right was a stream of warm bluish-white lightning-like light she knew was God. A tunnel appeared with her father Joe floating left of the entrance in cloudy blues and browns, while Christ floated right in whites and pastels. Inside the tunnel, a shadowy figure with Elvis-like hair repeatedly asked Joe if she was coming, relaying questions from thousands of beings at the tunnel's end who knew her as ancestors and friends. She watched her life review in reverse on a white screen, from drowning back through birth to before birth, seeing herself as a streaming cloud child riding a white horse who had asked to be born to learn perseverance and resilience. The film showed her requesting this birth despite preferring to keep riding. Surrounded by overwhelming love and acceptance, she was told by God to return and teach that God exists, to prove what she had seen. God's final message was: "Time is of an essence, time is short, as you know it. Go teach. I am that I am." Thrown back into her body at light speed, she reached for a young man's extended hand as he led a human chain rescue. Forty-five years later, through DNA testing, she discovered the shadowy figure in the tunnel was her biological father Raymond, whom she'd never known existed.
