On April 5, 2001, Joni H attempted suicide through a lethal drug overdose, resulting in clinical death and a six-day coma. During the experience, she found herself observing an indescribably white, luminescent wing with no beginning or end, with visible feathers in great detail.
She heard two voices speaking to each other, not to her. One said "We are going to give her her new name." The other replied, "But it hasn't been three days yet." The first responded, "But we are going to give her her new name anyway." Throughout this, she saw tiny shapeless beings like spots who were painting artwork with brilliant colors more vivid than earthly colors. The white wing was more luminescent than any white she had seen. Joni experienced no fear, only awe at the beauty of colors and the whiteness of the wing. There was no tunnel or sense of transportation - she was simply there. She also had a prophetic vision of her brother and ex-lover at her hospital bed, angrily shouting they would take her son away, which later came true exactly as seen. The experience gave her conviction about life after death being more real than current existence and enhanced appreciation for colors and flowers.
