On May 6, 1976, Jonathan B was staying with his grandparents after being discharged from Marine boot camp due to Rheumatic Fever contracted from untreated Strep throat. He experienced three days of 105-degree fever, crippling arthritic-like pain, and difficulty breathing.
On the third day, a grey curtain appeared in the upper corner of the room and moved toward him, obscuring everything behind it. When it touched him, he became aware this was the Angel of Death coming to take his life. As it swept up his body, he felt he ceased to exist beyond the curtain. He heard Jesus's voice warning that if the grey touched his heart, he would cease to exist. Jonathan prayed earnestly, promising to dedicate his life to Jesus in exchange for living long enough to complete his life tasks and ensure his sister was a Christian. Jesus accepted. Jonathan then left his body, entered blackness, and shattered like glass with all his memories, thoughts, and identity fragmenting. He later reassembled and returned to his body, at which point his fever broke and all symptoms disappeared instantly. The experience gave him precognitive abilities, unusual physical resistance to disease and injury, faster healing, and lasting joy. He survived several high-voltage accidents and developed faith healing abilities.
