A 26-year-old soldier deployed to Thailand contracted H. pylori, experiencing severe symptoms including fatigue, stomach pain, and breathing difficulties. On October 25, 1996, while lying in bed with breathing problems, he passed out clutching his chest. He immediately levitated to the ceiling, flipping to a bird's-eye view where he saw his motionless body. The bedroom ceiling was replaced with condensed outer space filled with tiny bright stars against impossibly dark space. A 7.5-foot tall angel in a white robe appeared, resembling Christopher Lee, with whom he had a telepathic conversation about being on the wrong trajectory to Heaven. He then hovered above his house which appeared roofless like a dollhouse, seeing his wife cooking and another angel with her. He flew across the Pacific Ocean at 50,000 feet altitude from Guam to Los Angeles in about 10 seconds. In a bright orange/yellow room representing God's presence, he underwent judgment where he experienced how his past words and actions affected others throughout their lives, feeling their pain and humiliation. After expressing shame and asking to go to Hell, he turned back saying he just wanted to see his birthday. He was thrown back into his body at exactly 12:00 AM on October 26th, his birthday, as his wife brought cake. A new doctor diagnosed and treated the H. pylori infection. The experience transformed him into a loving person who began attending church.
