A man experienced a near-death experience after being run over by a 5-ton truck on his first day of work. While dying in a policeman's lap, he left his body and floated above, observing the scene below while being drawn toward a light. The light communicated with him in a human voice, telling him it was his time. However, he pleaded three times to return, thinking only of his young children aged 2 and 3-4 years old who needed him to raise them. The light warned him "you won't like it" if he returned, but after his third plea, he was sent back with the words "So be it." Upon returning to his body, he experienced excruciating pain and watched medical personnel shocking his heart three times before he was revived. The experience profoundly changed him - he withdrew from family, felt worthless, and constantly sought to recapture the peaceful feeling he experienced while dead. This emotional distance eventually led to his divorce after 16 years, once the children were raised. Now at 55, he no longer fears death, remembering the greatest peace he felt during his NDE, and believes it won't be long before he returns to that state permanently.
