She experienced herself as huge, clear, neither male nor female but both, as JOY and LOVE, one with her soul group. Re-entering her heavy physical body was energetically painful, feeling isolated from her real existence. The contrast between her magnificent spiritual self and the decaying meat-body caused intense anguish. She spent hours in agony, creating a drawing of a glowing specter bursting from a corpse-like body. An elderly confused patient was admitted that night, crying that her daughter had abandoned her. When nurses threatened restraints, a voice told the experiencer "this is the point of it all" - that we're all trapped in bodies like individual canoes on a river of painful experience, and the only thing making it worthwhile is reaching across to ease another's suffering. She was flooded with love and courage, seeing everyone as graceful beings, not broken creatures. She comforted the elderly woman, channeling her daughter's presence until she calmed. This brought her profound joy despite still feeling trapped. The experience fundamentally altered her spirituality, relationships, and life goals over 18 years.
