In September 2013, a man was admitted to a Northern California hospital with pancreatitis. The ER doctor warned him he would experience more pain than most humans experience in their entire lives. During late night hours while suffering agonizing pain from his pancreas dissolving itself, he felt an internal shift that made him close his eyes. Upon opening them, he couldn't see clearly and began peeling hardened wax-like layers from his eyes while hearing footsteps clamoring around him.
As his vision cleared, he found himself on the outskirts of a sea of savage people with white soulless eyes hitting each other with various weapons. When he thought "What is this place?" someone screamed "Hell!! Where do you think you're at?" All communication was telepathic. The violent crowd turned on him, initially throwing shoes and shirts, escalating to sticks, clubs, bats, and pipes. He ran and fought back as the attacks intensified, with inhabitants moving at superhuman speed like track stars and warriors. The violence was relentless, with inhabitants taking pure pleasure in it. A 3-4 year old girl with one blue eye and one white eye, accompanied by a 12-foot tall "King," stopped him saying "I know who you are! You're J... W... C..." She told him he hadn't been there long and could still return by feeling being back where he came from. As attacks resumed, he fought through the crowd toward the darkness barrier that repelled him like same-pole magnets. Fighting against this force while being pulled back by hundreds of hands, he made one final plunge into darkness. Closing his eyes, he desperately imagined being back in the hospital bed. After about ten seconds, he opened his eyes to find himself looking up through the hospital sheet. His heart kick-started and he jumped up screaming, ripping out his IV. He spent two weeks recovering with nurses who listened sympathetically, though doctors dismissed his experience. The little angel knowing his name haunts him, making him wonder if his eternal fate is already written.
