A UK teenager experienced multiple out-of-body episodes around age 14, occurring during daytime exhausted naps. These OBEs involved leaving the body but being stopped at the ceiling, aware of the physical body below but unable to look at it. The room remained visible along with outside views and background noise. Anxiety about being free from the body would cause return with a jolt. One experience involved seeing a death figure passing through closed doors in the hallway, creating fear it had come looking for them. These OBEs ceased after this frightening encounter.
The near-death experience occurred at night, distinct from the OBE sensations. Awakened by feeling watched and irritated by a pinprick of light where ceiling met wall, with no apparent source for the reflection, they got out of bed to examine it. The light grew larger until they were totally absorbed, realizing they were no longer on Earth. Initial struggle and panic arose from being out of body in an unknown situation. They became aware of commotion in the light ahead, sensing they were causing concern and disturbance. Voices said "What is he doing here, he shouldn't be here yet." Some voices were familiar, others unknown but knew them. Upon realizing they were dying, they shouted "Oh God I'm not ready for this!" A heavy thrusting sensation immediately returned them to bedroom and body. They sat up sobbing after the profound emotional experience. The unknown beings were felt to be ancestors who knew them, inspiring later genealogical research to honor their memory. This connection helped cope with chronic mental health issues emerging around age 24. Now at 44 with terminal physical health issues, they long to be taken peacefully by the white light, hoping to accept it openly without fear.
